TermDefinition
Constant something that stays the same, happens all the time without stopping, or is a fixed number that does not change
Control Group a baseline comparison group in an experiment that does not receive the test treatment
Dependent Variable the factor that you measure and observe in an experiment to see how it changes.
Independent Variable a factor that a researcher changes, controls, or manipulates in an experiment to test its effects on another factor.
Experimental Group the specific set of subjects in a study that receives the treatment or intervention being tested.
inference a conclusion or educated guess reached using available evidence and logical reasoning.
Observation the act of carefully watching, noticing, or gathering information using the senses or scientific instruments.
Peer Review the evaluation of scholarly work or research by experts in the same field before it is published.
Bias a strong preference or an unfair leaning for or against a person, group, or idea.
Variable any factor, trait, or number that can change or take on different values.
