TermDefinition
Variable Any factor, trait, or condition that can change or exist in different amounts or types during an experiment
Independant Variable The thing being changed
Dependent Variable The thing being measured/the Data collected
Experimental Group the group which is experimented one/ Independent veritable
Control group The group that gets compared to the experimental group. (this group gets to special treatment done on them)
Observation The gathering of information using the senses or scientific instruments
Inference A logical conclusion or interpretation drawn from collected data, direct observations, and prior knowledge
Bias Preferring one thing, person, or outcome over the other due to personal preference
Peer Review An experiment/claim investigated or reviewed by other scientists
Constant Things that will stay the same throughout the whole experiment
