Day and night

QuestionAnswer
1. How much time does it take for the Earth to rotate on its axis? It takes 24 hours for the Earth to rotate on its axis.
2. How many days does it take for the Earth to orbit the sun? It takes 365.25 days for the Earth to orbit the sun.
3. When is it day? When Earth faces the sun, it is day.
4. When is it night? When Earth faces away from the sun, it is night.
5. What does the Earth's tilt cause? Earth's tilt causes some locations on the planet to experience more direct sunlight.
6. When does the Northern hemisphere get summer? The Northern Hemisphere tilts toward the sun in June, July, and August which causes us to experience a hot summer.
7. What will it be like if the Earth did not sit on a tilt? If the Earth did not sit on a tilt, we would not experience seasons.
8. What causes the moon phases? The Moon orbits around the Earth causing us to see different moon phases.
9. What do we call it when the Earth does a full orbit around the sun? When the Earth orbits around the sun, we call it a revolution.
