Observation The act of noticing and describing events or processes in a careful, orderly way
Inference A logical interpretation based on what scientists already know
Independent Variable The variable deliberately changed
Dependent Variable The variable that is observed and that changes in response to the independent variable
Peer Review look carefully for mistakes, oversights, unfair influences, or fraud, in techniques and analysis
Bias A personal, rather than scientific, point of view for, or against, something
Variable Factors that can change
Experimental Group Exposed to constants and changes in the independent variable in a experiment
Constant A value or condition that does not change under specified circumstances
