dependent variable the variable that is observed and that changes in response to the independent variable. (the data or results I will collect)
independent variable the variable that is changing (I'm changing this on purpose)
inference a logical interpretation based on what scientists already know.
observation the act of noticing and describing events or processes in a careful, orderly way.
bias a personal, rather than scientific, point of view for, or against, something.
peer review a quality-control process where independent experts in a specific academic or scientific field evaluate a research paper or scholarly work before it is published.
variable anything that can change, or a symbol that represents an unknown value
