STARS AND PLANETS

QuestionAnswer
Rotate. To spin around an axis.
Axis. An imaginary line that runs through the center of the Earth from the North Pole to the South Pole.
Revolve. To travel in a closed path around the sun.
Orbit. An objects path in space around another object.
Moon. A small planet-like body that revolves around Earth rather than the sun.
Phases. As the moon revolves around the Earth, different amounts of its lit surface can be seen.
Solar System. Is a group of objects in space that orbits a star in the center. Plus, the star itself.
Planet. Is a large object that revolves around a star in a clear orbit.
Dwarf Planet. Also, revolves around a star but its path is not clear of other object.
Comet. A ball of rock ice and frozen gases.
Star. A huge ball of superheated gases.
Sun. A star that is at the center of our solar system.
Constellation. A group of stars that form an imaginary picture in the sky.
Galaxy . A huge system of gases dust and stars.
Universe. Everything that exists in space.
