Constant A value or factor that does not change
Variable Anything that can change
Dependent Variable The variable that is observed and that changes in response to the independent variable
Experimental Group The specific set of objects in a study that receives the treatment or intervention being treated
Independent Variable The variable that deliberately changes
Inference A logical interpretation based on what scientists already know
Observation The act of noticing and describing events or processes in a careful, orderly way
Peer Review Anonymous scientists who review other scientific work in the same field
Bias A personal, rather than scientific, point of view for or against something
