what is integrate? Pulling different systems & putting them together.
Example of Integrate Cardiovascular System: the cardio vascular system is an integrated system. It pulls all different systems together: Nervous Cario Endo Renal
What does Regulate? is to control
What are capillaries? Smallest blood vessels that transport, they have pores that exchange whatever is being exchanged.
what sits on top or near the capillaries ? The organ systems sit near the blood vessels so those organ system can exchange from that plasma or put waste back in the blood vessels.
what is different about the compartments? the amount of the concentrations is different, the difference is important for function
What are 3 fluid compartments? Intracellular, Extracellular, & Plasma
What are pores utilized for? pores allow whatever is in the interstitial & plasma to pass freely, exchange, & to become equal concentrations
Plasma membrane is very selective at what it can let cross through the membrane
If Na+ is 145 mM in the plasma, what should the concentration be in the interstitial fluid? 145 mM
If the plasma membrane is impermeable, will Na+ be able to pass through the membrane? No, it will not be able to pass through.
What is a Gradient? a difference
Can blood & large proteins pass through the plasma membrane? No..
Is plasma & ISF the same? No theyre similat. Interstitial fluid does not have blood
