| Net Force | The overall force on an object when all the forces acting on it are added together. |
| Variable | A letter or symbol that represents a number that can change. |
| Motion | The state in which one object's distance from another is changing. |
| Gravity | The attractive force between objects; the force that moves objects downhill. |
| Acceleration | The rate at which velocity changes.. |
| Force | A push or pull exerted on an object. |
| Slope | The steepness of a graph line. |
| Reference point | A place or object used for comparison to determine whether an object is in motion. |
| Velocity | Speed in a given direction. |
| Friction | The force that two surfaces exert on each other when they rub against each other. |
| Speed | The distance an object travels per unit of time. |
| Newton | A unit of measure that equals the force required to accelrate 1 kg of mass at 1 m/sec. square. |
