chemical property a characteristic that can only be observed when the type of matter changes
combustilibity the abilty to burn
corrosion the gradual wearing away with nonmetals in its environment
mixture a physical combinatian of 2or more substances. that are blended together without forming new substances
colloid type of mixture where part of one material are scattered though another block light dont settle out
solution mixture of substances that are mixed so completely it looks the same everywhere
alloy solution of a metal and one other solid that is also a metal
distillation process of separating parts of a mixture through evaporation and condensation
molecule a particle that contains more than one atom joined together
nucleus is the center of an atom it is made of protons and neutrons
proton is a particle with one unit of positive electric charge the number of protons in an atom is called the atomic number and determines which element it is
neutron is a particle with no electric charge it is neutral
electron smaller particles with one unit of negative electric charge and each electrons move within the space outside the nucleus.
