| physical property | a characteristic of matter that can be observed and or measured. |
| magnetism | the abillity of an object to push or pull on another object that has the magnetic property |
| conductivity | abillity or energy such as electricity and heat to move through a marerial. |
| reflectivity | the way light bounces off an object . |
| solubility | the maximum amount of a substance that can be disolved by another substance . |
| chemical propertys | a change that provides new matter with different properties from the original matter. |
| combustibility | the ability to burn. |
| corrosion | the gradual wearing away of a metal as it combines with nonmetals in its enviorment. |
| nucleus | the center of an atom that has most of its mass. |
| proton | a particle in the nucleus af an atom that carries one unit of positive electric charge. |
| neutron | a particle in the nucleus of an atom that has no electric charge . |
| electron | a particle in the space outside the nucleus of an atom that carries one unit of negative eletric charge . |
| molecule | a particle that contains more than one atom joined together. |
| mixture | a physical combination of two or more substances that are blended together without forming new substances. |
| collid | a type of mixture in which the particles of one material are scattered through another and block the passage of light without setting out. |
| soultion | a mixture of substances that are blended so copletely that the mixture looks the same everywhere. |
| alloy | a soultion of a metal and atleast one other solid which is often also a metal. |
| distillation | the process of seperating the parts af amixture by evaporation and condensation. |
