| narrative techniques | are the specific tools and methods writers use to tell a story, shape the plot, and build characters... such as flashback, foreshadowing and dialogue |
| plot structure | is the organized sequence of events that make up a story. |
| symbolism | is the practice of using an object, person, situation, or word to represent a larger, abstract idea beyond its literal meaning |
| archetypal story | are universal, recurring patterns in plots and characters found across human cultures, myths, and literature. |
