| Empirical Evidence | Empirical evidence is information gained through direct observation, experimentation, or real-world experience. |
| Theory | A theory is a well-reasoned and systematic set of ideas meant to explain a group of facts, events, or phenomena. |
| Law | Law is a system of rules created and enforced by a government or society to regulate behavior, maintain order, and resolve disputes. |
| Experiment | An experiment is a planned test or procedure used to discover something new, test an idea, or see how cause and effect work. |
| Hypothesis | A hypothesis is a tentative, testable explanation for a phenomenon or a predicted relationship between two or more variables that has not yet been proven. |
| Dependent variable | A dependent variable is the factor that a researcher measures in an experiment to see how it responds to changes made to another factor. |
| Observation | An observation is the act of carefully watching, noticing, or gathering information about something using your senses or scientific tools. |
| Independent Variable | An independent variable is a factor that a researcher changes, controls, or manipulates in an experiment to test its effects on another factor. |
| Data | Data is a collection of raw facts, numbers, symbols, or observations that have not yet been processed or analyzed to find their meaning. |
| Model | A model is a physical or mental representation of something, an example to copy, a specific version of a product, or a person who displays clothes or poses for art. |
| Engineering | Engineering is the practical application of science and mathematics to design, build, and improve structures, machines, systems, and processes. |
| Technology | Technology is the practical application of scientific and conceptual knowledge to create tools, systems, and methods that solve human problems and improve daily life. |
| Prototype | A prototype is an early model, sample, or release of a product built to test a concept, evaluate design, and gather user feedback before full-scale production |
| Trad-off | A trade-off is a choice where you give up one thing or quality to gain or achieve something else. |
| Risk benefit analysis | A risk-benefit analysis is a method used to compare the negative effects (risks) of an action against its positive effects (benefits). The goal is to see if the rewards are worth the dangers before making a choice. |
| Life cycle analysis | A life cycle analysis (also known as Life Cycle Assessment or LCA) is a method used to measure the total environmental impact of a product, service, or process. |
| Pugh chart | A Pugh chart, also known as a Pugh Matrix, is a structured decision-making tool used to compare multiple competing options against a baseline standard to find the best solution. |
