| value | the lightness or darkness of a color or object |
| space | the area around, between, above, below, or within objects in an artwork |
| balance | a principle of art that creates a sense of visual stability |
| shape | a flat, enclosed area such as a circle, square, triangle, or irregular shape |
| color | an element of art created by the way light is reflected from a surface |
| texture | the way a surface looks or feels, such as rough, smooth, bumpy, or soft |
| pattern | a repeated design, line, shape, color , or other visual element |
| proportion | the size relationship of one part of an object or artwork to another |
| collage | an artwork made by attaching different materials or images to a surface |
| still life | an artwork showing arranged nonliving objects, such as fruit, flowers, or everyday items |
| landscape | an artwork that shows natural scenery such as mountains, trees, rivers, or fields |
| elements of art | the basic components, or building blocks, used to create works of art: line, shape, form, value, texture, space, and color |
