| Term | Definition |

| Control | the standard setup in an experiment that does not get changed |
| Independent Variable | the one thing you change on purpose in a science experiment |
| Dependent Variable | what you measure or count in an experiment |
| Evidence | the data, facts, or information gathered through observation and measurement during an experiment |
| Phenomena | an observable event or fact that happens in the natural world and can be studied, seen, or tested |
| Hypothesis | an educated guess or smart prediction about what will happen in a science experiment |
| Experimental Investigation | a test or procedure done in a controlled way to answer a science question |
| Conclusion | a final summary that tells what was learned from an experiment |
| Reliable | getting the same consistent results when you repeat an experiment or test multiple times |
| Valid | the data and answers from an experiment are fair and true |
