What are the three important aspects of corrections in the correctional system? Probation: sentence given ot offender by judge Parole: early release of an inmate from prison sup by parole officer. Prison: being held in jail, cast of incarceration.
What is the difference between a juvenile and a emancipated adult? A juvenile is a person under the age of 18 typically viewed and treated differently from an adult, in the criminal justice system. An emancipated adult is someone who has been granted the status of adulthood, since they meet certain requirements.
What is incarceration? The state of being put in prison
What are diversion programs? a program were offenders participate in rehabilitation programing addressing behavior and problems that let to the arrest for juveniles
The system for punishment and imprisonment of criminals is designed for fulfill 4 functions, what are they? social protection, deterrence. rehabilitation, retribution
What is a common intervention approach Social Workers use to encourage participants to identify and change cycles of criminal thinking and behavior? group therapy
What does being an effective social worker look like in the criminal justice system? Requires the ability to understand the causes of criminal behaviors and confront underlying social conditions that give rise to support criminal action.
What is a forensic social worker a social worker that plies an outlook to leagal issues and systems and litigation.
