Hormone A chemical that sends messages in the body.
Pituitary gland A gland in the brain that controls other glands.
Thyroid gland A gland in the neck that controls energy and metabolism
Adrenal glands Glands above the kidneys that help the body handle stress
Pancreas An organ that helps control blood sugar
Tonsils Tissues in the throat that help fight infection
Thymus An organ that helps develop immune cells
Lymph node A small structure that helps fight infection
Lymphatic vessel Tubes that carry lymph through the body
Cardiology The study of the heart
Cardiologist A doctor who treats the heart
Myocarditis Inflammation of the heart muscle
Endocarditis An infection or inflammation inside the heart
Electrocariogram (ECG/EKG) A test that checks the heart's electrical activity
Spleen An organ that cleans the blood and helps fight infection
