For multiple social and economic reasons, certain communities present their residents with a higher risk of uncertainty and vulnerability in several areas. What are these areas? -Public services (ex. law enforcement , sewage, and lack of sidewalks and parks ) -hazards (ex. crime, pollution and accidents) -social norms (ex. prevalence of illicit substance use)

What is the difference of being homeless and unhoused? Unhoused: living in vehicles or couch surfing, employed but can't afford rent, Homeless: Evokes an image of unemployed person living on the streets or sleeping in shelters.
What is a continuum of care program? community-based program where one gets help to become "house ready", like becoming sober, and staying committed to mental health services.
What is a housing first program? the act of getting permanent housing for the anyone experiencing homelessness with supportive services and vocational counseling, mental health services and addiction programs.
What do social workers do in order to help assist individuals experiencing homelessness? -Participate in home visits -develop relationships with clients in at-risk communities -assist in immediate individual and/or family needs through case -management services -conduct community needs assessments to document. -advocate
