TermDefinition
DNA A long, double-helix molecule that carries the genetic blueprint of an organism.
Gene A specific segment or piece of DNA that codes for a specific trait or protein.
Chromosome A rod-like structure made of tightly wound DNA and proteins found in the cell nucleus.
Trait A physical or physiological characteristic passed down from parent to offspring.
Inherited characteristics passed from parents to offspring through genes.
Heredity the process where parents pass genetic traits to their offspring
Nucleus The control center of a eukaryotic cell where chromosomes and DNA are stored.
