address the numbers and street name that describes where a person lives
axis the imaginary line that runs through the center of earth from the north pole to the south pole
cardinal directions the four main directions-north,south,east, and west
compass rose the diagram on the map shows the points of directions
continents the seven main areas of land on earth
globe a model of the earth
grid map a map that uses letters and numbers in boxes to describe locations of objects
key legend the list of signals on a map
map shows objects from above, in smaller size, and in relation to other objects
north pole the northernmost part of the world
oceans the four main bodies of water in the world
scale shows how big the object on the map is compared to the real object
south pole the southernmost part of the world
symbol something that represents the object or idea
