address numbers and street name that describes where a person lives
axis the imaginary line that runs through the center of the earth
cardinal directions the four main directions-north,south,west,east
compass rose the diagram on a map that shows the point of direction
continents the seven main areas of land
globe a model of the earth
grid map a map that uses letters and numbers in boxes to describe the location of objects
key/legend the symbols on a map and what they stand for
map shows objects from above, in smaller size, and in relation to other objects
north pole the northmost part of the earth
south pole the southmost part of the earth
oceans the four main bodies of water on earth
scale shows how big a object on the map compared to the real object
symbol something that represents an objector idea
