Science U1 Vocab

QuestionAnswer
Hypothesis a possible answer to a scientific question. Must be able to be tested.
Science a way of understanding the natural world.
Dependent Variable changes based on the IV. The outcome variable. Measured.
Empirical Evidence includes the data and observations that have collected through scientific processes.
Model allows scientists to represent objects that are either very large, such as our solar system, or very small, such as a molecule of DNA.
Law statement that describes what you can expect to occur every time under a particular set of conditions.
Observation collecting data using the senses such as sight, sound, and touch.
Independent Variable the scientist changes on purpose. The one that is tested. Can have only 1.
Theory well tested explanation for a wide range of observations or experimental results.
