vocabolary

TermDefinition
address the number and street name that describes where a person lives.
axis the imaginary line that runs through the center of the earth.
cardinal directions the four main directions-North, South, East, and West.
Compass rose The diagram on the map that shows the points of directions.
Continents The seven main aeras of the land on Earth.
Oceans the four main bodies of water earth.
Globe a model of the earth.
Grid map A map that uses letters and numbers in boxes to describe the location of objects.
key/Legend The list of symbols on the map and what they stand for.
Map Shows objects from above, in smaller size, and in relation toother object.
North Pole The northern most part of the earth.
Scale Shows how big the object on the map is compared to the real object.
