A set of flashcards for important SAT concepts to know

QuestionAnswer
What is the vertex formula in a quadratic equation -b/2a, where y=a(x^2)+bx+c
In math problems, change refers to the positive OR NEGATIVE amount the prior value changed by
when presented with a vague graph, you always must PRECISELY calculate.. the slope, using two points visible
different ways to write ax²+bx+c I (ax-h²+k), or II a(x-h²)+k, or III (ax-hx-h+k), or IV (ax²-2hx+h²+k)
how to complete the square? divide both sides by a, isolate x, add (b/2)² to both sides, rewrite the x side as squared binomial, being (x+b/2)², and square root both sides
if you're ever unsure when receiving a quadratic equation, first try expanding it fully
moreover signals... that the information that follows adds to the prior information written
contentious meaning fought over
tenuous meaning weak or uncertain, can easily break or fail
important rule for "generalization about x in y" it refers to x ACROSS y. not x itself
when plugging example functions into a calculator, remember two things: 1. you can plug n chug, 2. to use the specific formats of specific equations, such as mx+b
does college board allow holes in graphs no, it's all algebra 1, don't do any discontinuity stuff
when asked to find some factors of an exponential equation.. break the terms that remain constant across all answer choices to achieve whatever factors you need
concede definition to agree with others; to admit, often reluctantly after first denying the truth
commas can or cannot join main clauses cannot without conjunction
example of two main clauses that the state in which the crater lied was conceded upon by all involved. establishing precise coordinates proved more divisive
what is the conventional way to join two main clauses a semicolon
conjecture definition a conclusion or estimate formed on the basis of insufficient evidence
repudiate definition to reject outright; to have nothing to do with
recant definition to revoke a previously held belief

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.
