ABO Review

3 Layers of the Eye The fibrous tunic, the vascular tunic, and the nervous tunic
Outermost layer of the eye consisting of the sclera and the cornea. The Fibrous Tunic
Middle layer of the eye consisting of the iris, the choroid and the ciliary body and is responsible for nourishment. The Vascular Tunic
The innermost layer of the eye with photoreceptors and neurons which consists of the retina. The Nervous Tunic
Specialized light-detecting cells on the retinas at the back of your eyes. Photoreceptors
Photoreceptors great at helping you see in dim places, but they aren’t as good at fine details, and they can’t see colors at all. Rods
Photoreceptors that need more light to activate than rods, but they can detect colors when they’re active. Most cones are in one place on your retina, the macula. They’re why the center of your visual field can see colors and other fine details. Cones
