Joule unit that measures energy, one joule is the same as 1 Newton of work over 1 meter of distance, power is measured in joules per second
Kinetic Energy energy an object has because of its motion
Level bar that pivots on a fixed point (fulcrum)
Mechanical Advantage how much a machine multiplies the effort (force) put into it
Potential Energy energy an object has because of its position
Pulley simple machine that uses wheels and ropes to reduce the force needed to lift an object
Transfer move from one thing to another
Work form of energy that is force applied over a distance
Law of conservation Energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed
The equation for work Work = Force times distance
Equation for mechanical advantage Slope divided by the height
