Elements of Computer and Communication Systems
| Term | Definition |

| Hardware | The physical, tangible components of a computer system that you can see and touch (e.g., CPU, motherboard, monitor, keyboard, cables). |
| Software | The intangible set of instructions, programs, or scripts that direct the hardware on how to perform specific tasks (e.g., Operating Systems, word processors, web browsers). |
| Data | The raw unprocessed facts, figures, or inputs entered into the computer system before they are organized into meaningful information. |
| People(Users) | The individuals who operate the computer systems, input the data, write the procedures, and utilize the resulting information. |
| Procedures | The document rules, guidelines, and manuals that dictate how people should use the hardware, software, and data to ensure the system operates correctly and securely. |
| Communications(Network) | The infrastructure (both hardware and software protocols) that enables multiple computers to connect, interact, and share data or resources with one another (e.g., routers, Wi-Fi, Ethernet). |
