FDA Food and Drug Administration; U.S agency that regulates food, drugs and medical devices.
MRI Magnetic Resonance Imaging; an imaging technique using magnetic fields and radio waves.
RN Registered Nurse; a licensed nursing professional.
Alzheimer disease A progressive neurodegenerative disorder.
Crohn disease A chronic inflammatory bowel disease.
Down syndrome A genetic disorder caused by an extra chromosome 21
Parkinson disease A progressive movement disorder.
Tourette syndrome A neurological disorder characterized by motor and vocal tics.
Dermatitis Inflammation of the skin.
Epidermis The outermost layer of the skin.
Melanoma A type of skin cancer that develops from pigment producing cells (melanocytes)
Subcutaneous Pertaining to beneath the skin.
Sebaceous gland A skin gland that produces oil (sebum) to lubricate the skin and hair.
