What is a downside to using a scrubber? It is hard to dispose of the waste
What gas is given off by powerhouses? Carbon dioxide
What makes carbon dioxide dangerous? It is a greenhouse gas
What is a green house gas? A pollutant that increases the atmosphere’s ability to hold heat
What is a major green house gas? Carbon dioxide
What is a major source of carbon dioxide & greenhouse gasses? Power plants
What waste do nuclear power plants create? Solid waste that is dangerous for thousands - millions of years
How are many fossil fuels obtained? Mining
What are damages caused by mining? Cutting down trees Dissolving water
What is another way to get fossil fuels? Drilling
What is dangerous about drilling? Some methods use toxic materials to force oil & gas to the surface
What is a danger when transporting fossil fuels They can leak
