What is the flow of charged particles in the same direction called? Electric current
What is electric current? When the flow of charged particles move in the same direction
What allows electric current to flow through? Conductor
What is a conductor? Something that allows an electric current to flow through
What is a good conductor of electricity? Metal
What is the best metal to conduct electricity? Copper
What does NOT allow the flow of electricity? Insulator
What is an insulator? Something that does not allow electric current to flow
What is an insulating material? Plastic
What does electric current need to flow? A source, a starting point
What is a source? The starting point of an electric current
What is a complete electrical path called? Circuit
What is a circuit? A complete electrical path
How does a switch start/stop the flow of electricity? Opens/closes the path
What is a resistor? A device used to control the flow of electricity
What don’t the wires glow in a lightbulb? They are a resistor
What happens when electricity travels through a resistor? It changes into another form of energy
What does a wire do? Carries electric current to and from lightbulb
