Transverse plane (also called the horizontal plane) divides the body into top and bottom. In anatomical position, transverse planes are parallel to the ground.
Coronal plane a vertical plane that divides the body into the front and back sections. If you do a “belly flop” into the water, you sink into the water via the coronal planes.

Anterior situated toward or at the front of the body or a body part. It is also known as ventral.
Posterior the back side of the body or a body part. It is the opposite of anterior, which means the front.
Laterally moving or positioned away from the middle (midline) of the body and toward the side. It is the opposite of medially, which means moving toward the center
medially a body part is located toward the middle or center line of the body. It is the opposite of lateral, which means farther from the middle.
Intermediate a body part is located between two other structures, specifically positioned between a more medial (inner/middle) structure and a more lateral (outer/side) structure
proximal closer to the center of the body or the point where a limb attaches.
Distal a body part is located farther away from the center of the body, the trunk, or the point where a limb attaches. It is the exact opposite of proximal, which means closer to the attachment point
superficial directional terms used to describe the relative depth or location of body structures toward the surface or away from the surface of the body.
