Superior Rectus Muscle Moves the eye superiorly; assists in pulling the eye medially
Inferior Rectus Muscle Moves the eye inferiorly; assists in pulling the eye medially
Medial Rectus Muscle Pulls the eye medially
Lateral Rectus Muscle Pulls the eye laterally
Inferior Oblique Muscle ROTATES the eye; Elevates the eye; moves the eye laterally
Optic Disc (Blind Spot) Portion of the retina where the axons of the optic nerve gather and exit the posterior of the eye; aka blind spot
Cornea Translucent; allow light to enter the eye; contains no blood vessels
vorticose (vortex) veins Blood Vessels that supply and drain the choroid layer
Choroid 2nd tunic; contains capillaries and pigments that reduce the scattering of light; aka vascular layer
Sclera Outer most layer of the eye; "white" part of the eye has collagen fibers that help keep the eye's shape
