When and why are grids used in radiography? Grids are normally used when the body boy being imaged is thicker, like spines, abdomens, ect. The grids are used to absorb scattered radiation.
What does caudal and cephalic mean? Caudal means towards the feet and cephalic means towards the head.
Identify the components of the X-ray system The control consol, the high voltage genrator, X-ray tube, collimator, IR, and bucky
What is KVp and mAs? How do they differ? KVp (Kilovoltage peak) determines the energy pentrating the power of the x-ray mean. This can be referred to as quality. mAs (Milliampere-seconds) controls the total quantity of X-ray photons produced.
What us SID,OID, and and SOD? - Source to image distance -object to image distance - source to object distance
What position are used for a routine wrist? PA, lateral, and oblique
What positions are used for a routine humerous? AP and lateral
What bone can you clearly see in the ulna deviation position? scaphoid bone
Respiration instructions trama view of the humerous suspend respiration . Breath in normally, let it out and hold your breath. Helps with image clarity
Where is the trochlea located? The medial, distal end of the humerous. Stool chaped bone that interlocks with the trochlea notch of the ulna.
Where is the olecranon process located? proximal end and posterior side of the Ulna?
What position of the wrist is used for carpal tunnel? The Gaynor Hart Method - wrist in dorsiflexion
What does the shoulder girdle consist of ? The calvicle, scapula, and proximal humerous
SID and KVp for a routine finger KVp of 55-65 and SID of 40"
Where should the CR be pointed at during a lateral thumb The first MCP joint
Correct angle central ray angulation for the gaynor heart method 20-30 degrees cephalic
