| Good ___ My name is Amari White. | Please introduce yourself to the court. |
| I live in the Carlo Plazas apartment complex in Bellview, which is District 12 here in Truman. | Where do you currently live Ms. White? |
| Wellll, when I’m not cheering WAY too loudly at my kids’ basketball games…I work full-time at a recently refurbished casino here in Truman. My kids would probably say the basketball games are my real full-time job, though | And what do you do for a living? |
| yes i am | Now you just mentioned living in district 12, are you a registered voter there? |
| Well since 2015. | How long have you been able to vote? |
| Well of course, I think it's important that I stay up to date with what's happening and do what I can for my city especially in the recent mayoral election | Has voting always been something that’s important to you? |
| It seemed like people were more excited about this election because of Elizabeth Ginger, Heisman’s opponent. I’d never seen so many people be so enthusiastic about politics and voting, and it made it even better that Ginger grew up in Bellview | I noticed you said “especially in this election,” why is that? |
| It seemed like she had a lot of support in our district. I mean, I saw more campaign signs than I’d ever seen before, and most of them were for Ginger. | From what you observed, how much support did Ms. Ginger seem to have in District 12? |
| OFCOURSE I did, I even checked out one of her campaign speeches and… heh I even donated a hearty.. ten dollars to her. I know, BIG spender. My kids probably would’ve preferred I use it on snacks | Did you personally support Ms. Ginger as well? |
| Yeah actually um, my family started receiving weird phone calls with information about voting requirements that I knew were false. | Did anything unusual seem to happen? |
| Yes, so I remember the first call came while my family and I were eating dinner. It was Taco Tuesday..VERY special day for us (look serious). | Could you walk us through the first phone call you received? |
| I did! Later my husband got one saying that people who had ever been arrested couldn’t vote…..If THAT were true.. my Uncle Arnold would be cooked, and that man’s been voting for as long as I can remember | Did you receive another call? |
| Yup! The last call I got was telling me you couldn’t vote if you didn’t have a college diploma | Were there any more calls ? |
| Every. single. call I got came from the same number. Not to mention the voice on the line sounded like the same man every. single. time. I may be getting older but I can remember a voice I’ve heard multiple times | As you received those calls, did anything stand out to you? |
| I went to the local gym in town. The SloLo Gym | Where did you end up going to vote? |
| Never! We had always voted at Grynberg High School before this election. After all, the SloLo Gym is a lot smaller than the high school and it's always been so hard for me to find….Not that I go to the gym very often anyway. | Is the SloLo Gym where you usually go to vote? |
| Absolutely. It took me FOREVER to find parking and keep in mind, I got there EARLY. | Was it still hard for you to find this time? |
| I waited in line to vote, of course. But the line was horrificly long. I saw so many of my friends leave without their “I Voted” stickers…which broke my heart(sound sad) Heck, I didn’t even get in to vote until 7:05! | What happened once you arrived at the polling place? |
| Oh yes! I saw a man in a pretty nice looking suit handing out flyers? | Did anything else catch your attention? |
| Absolutely! | Flyers? Would you recognize those flyers if I showed them to you today? |
| This is pretty much the same information I was getting from those calls, like how you couldn’t vote in your didn’t own a home or have a college diploma..same old same old | Could you briefly describe what's on these flyers? |
| I confronted the man because I knew the information on it wasn’t true…and he just walked away from me! and as a mother I would not take the disrespect | After reading that flyer, what did you do? |
| Well I recognized his voice from those phone calls, so I called the number that had been blowing up my phone with all that false voter information to confirm my suspicions. And sure enough, he had picked up the phone! | What did you do after? |
| Well…after all the detective work I’ve done for the day, I am as certain as I can be. In my mind, everything just adds up! | Finally Mrs. White, how sure are you that the man on the phone was the same one you confronted? |
