TermDefinition
Perineorrhaphy is a surgical procedure that involves the repair and reconstruction of the perineum, the area between the vaginal opening and the anus
Gynecologist A physician who specializes in the female reproductive system, including the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, cervix, vagina, and breasts
Mammogram A mammogram is an X-ray image of the breast used to screen for and detect breast cancer and other breast abnormalities
Fallopian tubes. Two narrow tubes that connect the ovaries to the uterus in the female reproductive system
Endometrium The inner lining of the uterus
Menopause The natural stage in a woman's life when menstrual periods permanently stop, marking the end of reproductive years
Salpingoscope A specialized endoscope used to examine the inside of a fallopian tube
Amenorrhea The absence of menstrual periods
Dysmenorrhea Painful menstrual periods characterized by cramping pain in the lower abdomen that occurs before or during menstruation
Mastalgia Pain or discomfort in the breast tissue.
Hysteralgia Pain in the uterus
Ovaralgia Pain in an ovary
Braxton Hicks contraction Irregular, usually painless contractions of the uterus that occur during pregnancy
Hypomastia The condition of having underdeveloped or abnormally small breasts
Oophorocystosis The presence or formation of cysts in the ovary or ovaries
