MRI Magnetic Resonance Imaging: a machine that uses magnets and waves to create images of body organs and tissues.
CT Computed Tomography: a scan that combines X-rays and computers to create cross sectional images.
ECG Electrocardiogram: Records electrical activity in the heart.
CPR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation: an emergency procedure to restore breathing
AIDS Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome: Advanced stage of infection cause by HIV
BP Blood Pressure: Force of blood in artery walls
HR Heart Rate: The number of times the heart beats per min
Rx Prescription ordered by healthcare provider
Dx Diagnosis: The identified disease or medical condition
Tx Treatment: medical care given to manage or cure a condition
Alzheimer disease A progressive disorder that causes memory loss and cognitive decline
Parkinson Disease Neurological disorder that affects movement, balance, and coordination.
John Langdon Down Syndrome Genetic condition caused by a extra copy of chromosomes 21
Atrium A upper chamber of the heart that receives blood
Ventricle One of the lower chambers of the heart
Thomas Addison Disease A disorder where the adrenal glands don't produce enough hormones
Neuron nerve cell that transmits electrical and chemical signals through the body
Synapse Junction where neurons communicate with one another or a muscle cell
Bronchi two main air passages that carry air from trachea to lungs
