Behavioral Analysis The scientific study of behavior and the environmental variables that influence it.
Radical Behaviorism Skinners philosophy of behavior that treats both public and private events as behavior to be explained scientifically.
Behaviorism The philosophy of science that guides the study of behavior.
Selectionism The view that behavior changes through selection by its consequences.
Control The demonstration that changes in 1 variable produce changes in another.
Description The scientific identification and measurement of events.
Experimental Analysis of Behavior (EAB) The branch of behavior analysis that investigates basic behavioral processes through experimental research.
Prediction The identification of reliable relations between events.
Empiricism The practice of acquiring knowledge through systematic observation and measurement.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) The application of behavior- analytic principles to improve socially significant behavior.
Unconditional Stimulus (US) A stimulus that elicits a response without prior learning.
