| Relative Rate of Reinforcement | The proportion of total reinforcement obtained from an alternative. |
| Relative Rate of Responding | The proportion of total responses allocated to an alternative. |
| Bias | A preference for one alternative independent of reinforcement rate. |
| Sensitivity | The degree to which beha ior tracks changes in relative reinforcement. |
| Undermatching | Less changes in behavior than predicted by the matching law. |
| Overmatching | More change in behavior than predicted by the matching law. |
| Operant Variability | Behavioral variability maintained be reinforcement. |
| Lag Schedule | A reinforcement schedule that reinforces responses differing from recent responses. |
| Variability Contingency | A contingency requiring behavioral variation for reinforcement. |
| Behavioral Flexibility | Adaptive variation in responding across changing conditions. |
| Response Class | A group of responses that produce the same effect on the environment. |
| Selection of Consequences | The process by which consequences select behavior. |
| Threshold Contingency | A contingency that reinforces responses occuring below a specified frequency threshold. |
| U-Value | A measure of response variability ranging from 0 (repetition) to 1 (maximum variability). |
| Response Diversity | The emission of multiple responses within a response class. |
| Reinforcer Magnitude | The amount or duration of a reinforcer. |
