BIOMOLECULES

monomer a small molecule that acts as a basic building block.
polymer a large, chain-like molecule made by linking together , repeating monomers
carbohydrate organic macromolecule made up of the elements carbon, hydrogen and oxygen that provides energy for the cell.
monosaccharide the simplest form of carbohydrate, commonly known as a "simple sugar (glucose, fructose)
polysaccharide complex carbohydrate made of long, repeating chains of monosaccharide units (starch, glycogen, cellulose)
protein large molecules made of amino acids that send signals between cells, support digestion, help your muscles move .
amino acid the monomer of proteins, simplest unit
polypeptide long chains of amino acids that have not folded into complex proteins.
