What does complex mean? Lots of parts are complicated to connect
Why is global hunger a complex issue to solve? Big steps needed to solve- many steps are needed to change government
How many people are predicted to live on Earth by 2025? 9 billion
Why is 9 billion people on Earth a big deal? 1 billion more people to feed
What is food waste? Throwing out food that could have been eaten
How much food is wasted in the United States? 30-40%
What are some ways to reduce food waste? Plan meals, donate unused cans, compost food scraps
What does compost mean? Decayed mix of plants used in a garden
What did Wawira Nairobi start? Food for Education
What does Wawira Njiru believe? Young people can lead that way in bringing change

What do students in Japan do at lunch? Help prepare and serve goof Learn about nutrition
