What are some good things about taxes? Pay for public services and armed forces. Pays for government workers

What is a monopoly? When you can only get a product from one seller?
What was the Stamp Act? A tax on printed items
What was the Quartering Act? Colonists had to let British troops stay in their home
What was the name of the group that opposed taxes? Sons of Liberty
What was Patrick Henry’s saying? Give me liberty or give me death!
What does, “Give me liberty or give me death” mean? He’d rather die than live without freedom
What products were taxed with the Townshend Act? Pain, lead, glass, paper, & tea
Why was New York punished? For not following the Quartering Act (letting troops stay in their homes)
Who fiercely opposed British taxes? Samuel Adams
How did colonists avoid taxes? Boycotting items
What does it mean to boycott? Not buy a product or from a certain place
Britain got rid of taxes on everything EXCEPT… Tea
