Transversal, Angles,
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Acute Angle | less than 90 degrees |
| Right Angles | exactly 90 degrees |
| Obtuse Angle | greater than 90 degrees |
| Straight Angle | exactly 180 degrees (also known as a straight line) |
| Complimentary Angles | add up to 90 degrees |
| Supplementary Angles | add up to 180 degrees |
| Transversal | a line that crosses at least two other lines |
| Special Angle Pairs | Congruent (have the same measure) and Supplementary (angles that add to 180) |
| Vertical Angles | angles that share a vertex but lie on opposite side of the transversal and parallel lines (Congruent) |
| Corresponding Angles | matching angles that lie, one on each parallel, on the same side of the transversal (Congruent) |
| Alternate Interior Angles | angles that lie, one on each side, on opposite sides of the transversal, inside the parallel (congruent) |
| Alternate Exterior Angles | angles that lie, one on each line, on opposite sides of the parallel lines, outside the parallel lines (congruent) |
| Consecutive Interior Angles | angles that lie one on each parallel line, but the same side as the transversal (supplementary) |
| Adjacent Angles | angles that share the same vertex as well as the common side (supplementary) |
