What is Quality Assurance? Processes that ensure medications are prepared safely and correctly. Focus:
Prevent errors before they happen.
What is a Standard Operating Procedure(SOP)? Written instructions describing exactly how pharmacy tasks are performed. Ensures consistency
What are LASA drugs? Look-Alike Sound-Alike medications. Major cause of medication errors.
What is a sentinel event? Unexpected event causing: * death * permanent harm * severe injury Requires immediate investigation.
What is a Health Care-Associated Infection? An infection acquired while receiving medical care.
What is a Master Formulation Record? The official recipe for compounding.
