Introduction to vocabulary

TermDefinition
Academic Writing is writing done to meet requirements for high school or college courses
Essay an essay is typically a shorter writing, often five paragraphs, that expresses the views of the writer.
Research Paper is a much longer writing, often four or more pages, that involves the writer researching what other authorities on the topic are saying
Persuasive Research Paper involves the writer presenting strong researched arguments to support his/her claim on a particular subject
Research Question is an answerable question that guides and centers your research.
Thesis is a statement that indicates what your paper will be about
Works Cited Page is an alphabetized listing of the sources with their publishing information that were cited or used while completing a research project or paper
