PED Foot
Expedient/ Expedite adjective—advantageous; useful in getting a desired result. verb—to speed the progress of; to help along.
Impede/Impediment verb—to cause delay, interrupt, or make difficult. An inability to read with comprehension may impede one’s academic progress. noun—anything that delays or interrupts.
Pedestrian noun—one who goes on foot. Also as an adjective; commonplace or dull, as in a (blank) style of writing. Because of my numerous food allergies, I eat a (blank) diet.
PHIL To love
Bibliophile noun—one who loves books; a book collector.
Anglophile a person who greatly admires or favors England and things English
Philharmonic adjective—literally loving harmony; devoted to music; a symphony orchestra.
Philosopher/ Philosophy noun—one who loves and pursues wisdom through logic and reasoning. noun—the love and pursuit of wisdom through reasoning.
PHOB Fear
Technophobia noun—a fear of technology; computer anxiety.
Acrophobia noun—an excessive or illogical fear of high places.
