What did a mother do with her children? Raise & educate

What is an economic depression? A period of time with little money and many people without jobs
What crops did the New England colonists grow to trade? Wheat, rye, barley
What other products did Puritans trade? Dairy- butter & cheese Meat- beef & pork Maple Syrup Fur
What animal did Puritans use for oil and bones? Whales
What became the new industry in New England? Timber
What new job did timber create? Ship builders
What was the most important industry in New England? Fishing
Why did Puritans struggle to keep power in their towns? Many people were coming to live in New England who were not Puritans
