How many focus modes are there? 4 primary drives setting controls
Where are the focus modes found? On the top front-left of the camera body
AF-S means... Auto focus single mode
AF-S is best for landscapes, macro, architecture
How does AF-S works... The cam,era locks focus once on a static subject when the shutter is half-pressed
AF-C means... Auto focus continuous mode
How does AF-C work? The camera continuously adjust focus on a moving subject as lomg as he shutter button or assigned AF-ON button is held down
AF-C best use for... Sports and Wildlife
DMF means... Direct Manual Focus mode
How does DMF work? It combines auto focus with manual override. The camera achieves focus and then you can mnually fine-tune the focus ring
MF means... Full manual control using the lens's focus ring. Manual mode
MF is best used for Tricky lighting, astrophotography and macro
Focus Areas and Tracking By pressing the Focus Area button you dictate how the camera samples the scene. These can be used in either AF-S or AF-C
Focus Area Wide uses the.. Entire frame to automatically detect and track subjects
Focus Area Zone uses Divides the autofocus area into 9 selectable, large zones.
Focus Area Center... Fixes the autofocus point dead-center of your image.
Focus Area Flexible Spot (S, M, L): Allows you to manually move a single focus point around the frame for precise placement.
Focus Area Expand Flexible Spot.. Similar to Flexible spot, but if the camera loses the subject, neighboring points will assist.
Bonus: For the best results when shooting moving subjects... Pair your AF-C mode with Tracking variants (e.g., Tracking: Flexible Spot M), which use the A1's AI subject-recognition to lock onto eyes, faces, or bodies.
Tracking spot, how to set up... Press menu and go down to main menu and toggle over to focus area. select that and go to bottom. Tracking spot

what tracking spot to generally use Center fix, large tracking spot, medium or small
Why use Tracking Spot? because it allows you to focus on your subject regardless of your camera movement
When tracking spot focusing what does your subject needto be? Your subject has to be within the many focusing points of your camera
How to lock focus... Press and hold shutter button halfway and now you can move camera any way and stillm have locked focus on subject
Once locked focus is achieved you just complete the shot by pressing the shutter button all the way
To set up Spot Metering, navigte on menu to Exposure/Color menu...then select Metering and choose spot. ... (For optimal exposure accuracy, you can size the metering circle as Standard or Large, and link the metering point directly to your active autofocus point.)
How many meter modes are there? 5 Multi (Default), Center,Spot(standard/Large, Entire Screen Avg and Highlight
How do you set the meter modes? Menu: Exposure/Color menu, select Metering and chose <Mtering Mode or assign to custom button
Multi Meter mode does what? it is the default. The default multi-pattern evaluation divides the frame into multiple zones and analyzes the light to prevent over or underexposure.
Center Meter Mode does what? Measures the brightness of the whole scene but places the highest priority on the center area.
Center Meter Mode work great for... for subjects centered in the frame.
Spot Metering Mode does what? Measures light only inside a specific circle (Standard or Large).
Spot Metering Mode excels in... High-contrast scenes, concerts, or theatrical performances where you need to expose for a very specific, isolated subject.
Spot Metering Mode can be linked to... your autofocus point using Focus Point Link.
Entire Screen Average Meter Mode does what? Evaluates the average brightness of the entire image.
With the Entire Screen Average Meter Mode ,the exposure... The exposure remains stable even if you drastically re-compose or the subject moves.
Highlight Metering Mode does what? Detects the brightest part of the scene and prioritizes exposing for it, which is useful for avoiding blown-out highlights.
