CIRCUIT DIAGRAM

| circuit | A complete, unbroken ring of connected parts that allows electricity to flow and power things like lights. |
| Circuit diagram | is a visual representation of an electrical or electronic circuit |
| Importance of Circuit Diagrams | • Help electricians and technicians understand circuits easily • Serve as a guide during installation, troubleshooting, and repair • Prevent mistakes and accidents • Used in schools, industries, and residential electrical systems |
| circuit components | Bulb, Cell, Battery, Switch, Voltmeter, Ammeter, Resistor, Fuse, Motor, Diode, LED, Inductor |
| Schematic diagram | uses symbols to represent electrical and electronic components and shows how they are electrically connected. |
| Pictorial diagram | shows the actual physical connections and layout of wires and components. |
| Block diagram | represents a system using blocks, where each block shows a main function or stage of the system. |
| cells & batteries | Cells provide energy to many appliances. Cells come in lots of different shapes and sizes. A battery is the name given two or more connected cells. When we say battery, we often mean cell. |
| electrical current | is the flow of electrons around a circuit. The more electrons flowing through the wire per second, the greater the current. The current is measured in amps (A) |

| Potential difference (voltage) | is the amount of energy transferred by each unit of charge passing between two separate points of a circuit. It is measure in Volts (V). |
| Voltmeters | measure the potential difference. They are connected in parallel to a circuit. |
