CIRCUIT DIAGRAM

circuit A complete, unbroken ring of connected parts that allows electricity to flow and power things like lights.
Circuit diagram is a visual representation of an electrical or electronic circuit
Importance of Circuit Diagrams • Help electricians and technicians understand circuits easily • Serve as a guide during installation, troubleshooting, and repair • Prevent mistakes and accidents • Used in schools, industries, and residential electrical systems
circuit components Bulb, Cell, Battery, Switch, Voltmeter, Ammeter, Resistor, Fuse, Motor, Diode, LED, Inductor
Schematic diagram uses symbols to represent electrical and electronic components and shows how they are electrically connected.
Pictorial diagram shows the actual physical connections and layout of wires and components.
Block diagram represents a system using blocks, where each block shows a main function or stage of the system.
cells & batteries Cells provide energy to many appliances. Cells come in lots of different shapes and sizes. A battery is the name given two or more connected cells. When we say battery, we often mean cell.
electrical current is the flow of electrons around a circuit. The more electrons flowing through the wire per second, the greater the current. The current is measured in amps (A)
ammeter It can be placed at any point in a series circuit
Potential difference (voltage) is the amount of energy transferred by each unit of charge passing between two separate points of a circuit. It is measure in Volts (V).
Voltmeters measure the potential difference. They are connected in parallel to a circuit.
