| Mild hypoxia | 91-94% |
| Moderate hypoxia | 86-90% |
| Severe hypoxia | <85% |
| Normal RR for newborns | 44 resp per min |
| Normal RR for infants | 20-40 resp per min |
| Normal RR for children(1-7) | 18-30 resp per min |
| Normal RR for adults | 12-20 resp per min |
| Eupnea | Normal breathing |
| Apnea | Breathing stops for a short period of time |
| Tachypnea | Abnormally rapid and shallow breathing, usually indicates respiratory distress |
| dyspnea | shortness of breath |
| Normal HR | 60-100 bpm |
| Tachycardia | >100 bmp |
| Bradycardia | <60 bpm |
| Gender difference in HR | Males typically 7-8 bpm slower |
| Systolic Pressure | BP during heart contraction |
| Diastolic pressure | BP during heart relaxation |
| When not to take BP | mastectomy, lymphedema, lymph node removal arm or side of dialysis shunt w/ open wounds, sores, incisions w/ birth control implant Any reason given by physician to not take BP on specified arm |
| When to stop PT(DBP) | DBP increase >20mmHG or decreases >10mmHG DBP >110mmHG |
| When to stop PT(SBP) | Doesn't increase with proportion to exercise SBP >200mmHG |
