| cross section | a flat, 2D shape revealed when you slice straight through a 3D object |
| scale drawing | a proportional, two-dimensional representation of an actual object of place |
| scale factor | a number used to multiply or divide the dimensions of an object to make a proportional enlargement or reduction |
| supplementary angles | two angles whose sum is exactly 180 |
| vertical angles | pairs of opposite angles formed by the intersection of two straight lines (creating an "X" shape) |
| algebraic expression | a mathematical phrase that combines numbers, variables and mathematical operators |
| angle measure | the size of the space between two intersecting lines, rays, or planes using degrees |
| area | the amount of two-dimensional space a flat shape occupies |
| circumference | the distance around the outside of a circle |

| proportion | an equation stating that two ratios or fractions are equal |
| proportional relationship | when two quantities change in a way that maintains a constant, equivalent ratio |
| protractor | a geometric tool used for measuring and drawing angles |
| quadrilateral | a two-dimensional, closed shape made of exactly four straight sides, four vertices, and four angles |
| radius | a line segment that extends from the center of a circle or sphere to its outer edge |
| rectangular prism | a 3-dimensional solid shape with six flat faces, where all the faces are rectangles |
| revolution | a full, 360 degree rotation |

| two-dimensional figure | a completely flat plane shape that has only two measurable dimensions, length and width |
| vertex | a corner or a point where two or more lines, line segments, or rays meet |
| vertical | anything that goes straight up and down (perpendicular to the horizon) |
| volume | the measure of the amount of three-dimensional space an object or closed surface occupies |
| nonincluded angle | any angle in a polygon that does not sit between two specific sides |
